joss moog drops his 1st solo ep on minority after having successful previous outings on robsoul. fat mamma is a jacked up chicago track that will be doing the rounds with the likes of derrick carter & mark farina. rhodes trip is armed with deep chords and slick beats and is reminiscent of room 25. everything inside has all the right ingredients to kick start a party, tough beats, smooth vocal stabs and a killer bass line. joss finishes the ep off in style with a big jazz bass line, groovy keys and a hypnotic sax that would work the dance floor at any time of the night.

moombah is one of those records you probably heard on just about any party where chuckie dropped his beats and thought: what the hell...?! the massacre which followed on the dance floor when this bomb (or as david guetta quoted to chuckie: you gave me a huge weapon) got dropped was inevitable: total madness, and a track which became a much sought after release on the net, speculating by those youtube fanatics what it was in the first place. it was only before chuckie added moombah to the tracklist of his dirty dutch compilation when people actually knew the ins and outs.

the 2nd ep vinyl preview of the highly anticipated italoboyz full length bla bl bla (out in september) on mothership. not everyone is aware that both marco and fede migrated north to london from italy several years ago. this move has influenced their sound, hence the where is london? ep this ep also marks the start of their new live instrumentation work. where is london draws its title from a big ben sample put in reverse, but it also features experimental live piano work (piano strings struck with paper mallets) re-twisted into their addictive drum patterns. on the other side, lanagramme features salvador dalis voice and the interesting dual piano work of their good friend angelo. italoboyz are always pushing the boundaries and testing the limits of traditional dance-floor music and this is no exception.

slam bring us the third chapter in their devestating paragraph series, following up their dancefloor destroyer, hot knives that was played by the biggest djs around and dubbed as one of carl craig s favourites of the last few months. the label s previous releases have already had big support from the rest of the techno fraternity, including legends richie hawtin, adam beyer, dubfire, anja schneider, len faki and francois kevorkian.
paragraph number 3 delivers some deep, bass-heavy electronic funk on the a-side, with one note samba . grooving from the off-set, the percussive elements of the track wind around a solid and heavy sub bass, introducing dubbed-out horns reminiscent of slam s freelance science days. hypnotic and tripped out, slam return to their house roots.

stone cold classic funky disco floor filler thats stood the test of time. first time ever on 12inch!!! taken from the hard to find self titled lp by tommy stewart, bump & hustle music is the definitive disco funk party anthem. it was recorded in 1976 in atlanta, georgia, and since then the lp has found itself in the play boxes of soul, funk and jazz djs alike. however, its not until now that this amazing song has finally made it onto the preferred format of dance djs the world over û the 45rpm 12inch single. in 1976 tommy stewart was a busy man, working as an arranger, producer, performer and writer for a host of soul and rnb artists. the lp made for abraxas records was the first to go directly under his name, and although it failed to take off locally, the lp soon became known by djs across the world primarily for the club smash bump & hustle music. as it happens that song in particular almost didnt exist but for tommy needing to come up with something quick in order to fill in a gap in the album. conceived and recorded on the spur of the moment, and with backing vocals by isaac hayes singers hot buttered soul overdubbed later, its a superb example of rhythmic simplicity blended with soulful, catchy harmonies. its just impossible to listen to bump & hustle music without a broad smile coming to your face, and when played loud in a club, its impossible not to dance!

daniel munkelberg has come to the attention of record labels across germany, with his experimental minimal-techno sound. this ep kicks off with an epic j alexander remix, together with ronald christoph on co-production duties. friends electric records head man j alexanderÆs remix massively beefs up the original track ôdigamö adding one of the most hypnotic synth lines you are ever likely to hear, layer upon layer ofá oberheim synths and 909 percussion combine with the quirky samples from the original to create a instant techno classic. other tracks on the ep include a darker, but dance floor friendly journey into minimalism with a san miguel remix and another daniel mukelberg original named musteki

disconet was created as subscription program service, which professionally selected and mixed disco music for discotheque djs, mobile discos and radio stations. disconet is called as the granddaddy of all remix services and provided mixed/segued dj dance sets, not only to make the djs job a little bit easier, but to expose club goers to new music. the djs spinning at the height of the disco era were given access to a new creative tool - a different interpretation of current dance tunes to wow club goers. originally, the disconet records were to be issued on a monthly basis which were limited to 1000 - 1500 copies of each volume. the first disconet record was released in october 1977. disconet team at that time was: tom savarese, bobby dj guttadaro and kevin guilmet as well as mike wilkinson. tom, bobby and kevin were dj legends, who had already been awarded with the dj of the year title by billboard. these greatest hits volumes contain their finest work, the original licensed disco edits of all the floor fillers of the time that have been re issued for your listening pleasure. expect many more volumes in the near future.
